I am new here. I live in the Philippines and I am currently 12 years old. I want to learn Gregg for some reasons…
Anyway, I only have the DJS manual and nothing more(no dictionaries etc.) I am worried because this may affect my learning.
(by zekiel13 for everyone)
Don't worry! You can start slowly by using the DJS book you pwn. What is the date of publication, edition? There are plenty of DJS users on this site to help. Just ask. Also, you may be able to buy a used dictionary and other study materials from Ebay with your permission from your parents. — Vic/San Jose CA
Thx for the replies!
To Nita: sorry but my parents won't let me >_> they say that I can't give you my add. heck, they won' ever let me in my whole life!(ok maybe not my whole life)
Anyway, I'm only in the first part of the book (which teaches how to read. writing the letter s etc.) lol. It's only been my first day.
Mail me your address and I will mail you a dictionary.

Merry Christmas,

As long as you have the DJS manual, you are perfectly fine — nothing to worry about. You don't need the dictionary for now. Just follow the instructions stated in the manual in the preface, and make sure you study the lesson well before proceeding to the following. The only other thing is to get a steno notebook (6" x 9", with a dividing line in the middle) that says "Gregg Ruled", and a nice medium to fine point rolling ball pen. Enjoy!
You can learn DJS from any of these books, all by L. A. Leslie and C. E. Zoubek: 1. Gregg Shorthand Diamond Jubilee Series – First Edition 2. Gregg Shorthand Functional Method (Diamond Jubilee) – First Edition 3. Gregg Shorthand for Colleges Diamond Jubilee Series Volume 1 – First Edition 4. Gregg Shorthand Diamond Jubilee Series – Second Edition 5. Gregg Shorthand Functional Method (Diamond Jubilee) – Second Edition 6. Gregg Shorthand for Colleges Diamond Jubilee Series Volume 1 – Second Edition All of these have separate student transcripts, except the Functional Method books, which have the transcript in the back of the book. They also have workbooks. The transcript and the workbooks have the same cover as their corresponding books. I hope this helps.
