Dictation for the Medical Secretary is an excellent book. Apart from the medical vocabulary and shorthand, it gives a fascinating insights into 1950s medicine: It has discharge summaries that talk about patients who leave the hospital after a month or two. Many of the medical words remain current, but many are now primarily of historical interest. Brian
