Repair old shorthand book

I have a 1930 gregg shorthand book.  It was very used when I bought it from a second hand store and now it’s more used (which is probably good but in my case it’s just not as taken care of as it could be).  I’d like to keep this one.  And I have no idea…

Anniversary vs. Simplified

Gang,I’m still new to the world of Gregg (hence the moniker), and am in the midst of learning the basics. On the Shorthand^{3} site, there is a mention of Simplified being better suited for business work than the earlier versions (which were more intended for court use). Uses for Shorthand

Written shorthand is supposedly dead in this day of laptop computers and micro tape recorders, but it seems to me that there are lots of people who still use it. I use mine for taking notes at meetings when I’m not doing formal minutes (which I use a laptop for), or when I can’t use…

Handy Hand

I’ve noticed a derivative of Gregg on the Internet called “Handy Hand.” It seems to use all the same consonents, but different vowels, and spells just about everything out. Does anyone have a take on this? Just curious. Jim (by forknerman for everyone)

Simplified Gregg

Well, copies of anything to do with Gregg Shorthand seem to be more scarce than hen’s teeth here in Australia but I have managed to track down a copy of Simplified Gregg (published by McGraw-Hill). It’s now on order, as all the publishing companies seem to have closed down for a month over Christmas-New Year. I should receive…
