The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Hey Group, I could really use your imput! While speed and facility are important goals in shorthand, I am most interested in the theory and principles that not only served the English speakers so well, but enabled their utilization in other languages as well. I have been able to get hold of Gregg in Spanish, French…
Hello everyone, I’ve noticed through reading a few messages that there seems to be quite a variety of people & professions within this group. If you don’t mind me asking; Which version of Shorthand do you use and for what purpose do you use it? Also, do you follow your original version of Shorthand (verbatim?), or…

It’s nice to have someone else interested in medical shorthand. NDP stands for Doctor of Nursing Practice: I wonder how one would write NDP in shorthand–use intersection? (by bjb29407 for everyone)
How can I practice dictation if there’s one one around to dicate to me? Any suggestions? Thanks. (by taaliba2 for everyone)
I have returned to this outline several times in sentence 1 of Group A on page 26 of the 1963 Diamond Jubilee Series and can not interpret it: Can someone help me. The sentence apparently reads: “Dale reads xxxxx an hour a day.”…. with the outline spelling out “tlest”. Can someone please help me with what…
Hi, all. I got a couple of interesting Gregg items on E-bay that just arrived today. The first is the DJS “Handbook for the Legal Secretary” by Leslie and Coffin. It’s in great shape (copyright 1968), and has lots of interesting information about legal application of Gregg. The fascinating thing about this book, though, is…
