How Long?

Greetings
This topic has a dual meaning.  Firstly, approximitly how long are l -> r and k -> g?  I’m guessing that it really varies depending on how fast your writing, but I’m not sure how long those should actually be.  Secondly, I’m wondering how long it took you to obtain a fluency in gregg where you could take notes when an average person speaks?  I’d think it would be about a year, but I’m just curious.  Thank!

  1. To Quote: "Secondly, I'm wondering how long it took you to obtain a fluency in gregg where you could take notes when an average person speaks?"   I was wondering the same thing too. I am studying DJS going on four months.

  2. The average person speaks at 200 words per minute. That would be court reporting speed, which would take several college semesters to achieve. Ordinary shorthand users write at 100 or 120 wpm, which would take a year or two, depending on aptitude and practice. Brian
