There’s a great book on e-bay, “Office Training for Stenographers”, 1916, by Rupert SoRelle. It’s one of the early Gregg publications that doesn’t deal with shorthand, but gives an overview of what office life was like in 1916. It’s a beautiful book with large format, interesting layout, and interesting use of red-letter type for emphasis, as well as some early color illustrations of office equipment and materials. The starting price is $0.99–you can’t beat that. I’m not bidding because I already have a copy.
(by alex for everyone)
