  1. Hello all. Here's the thread where you can find links to writings in (hopefully) various editions as a break from the utterly dry business letters that plague every manual from Simplified on.

Please indicate the version, then give us a link 🙂

First, Chuck's offerings of fables translated from Anniversary into DJS.

And here you can find a short news quip I found online that I thought was funny, along with the kind of letter I wish were in the Simplified manual every now and then. Written by me in Simplified.

It's in the new album I created for this very purpose, if anyone feels like contributing 🙂 I'll try to get at least one thing up every few days for my Simplified brothers and sisters!

(reposted to fix second link… who needs an edit post option after all?)

  2. I added a new story: "A Dissertation Upon Roast Pig", by Charles Lamb.  This story appeared in the book "Speed Drills in Gregg Shorthand", by Charles Zoubek, written in Anniversary Gregg.  A shorter version of the same appeared in the second edition of "Gregg Notehand".  I translated that version to DJS.  Below are the links.   http://www.msnusers.com/greggshorthand/Documents/dissertation-roast-pig-1.jpg http://www.msnusers.com/greggshorthand/Documents/dissertation-roast-pig-2.jpg

  3. Wow! This is great. I like the idea of indicating the Gregg version in the file name. Maybe I can scan in my "Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Notice in the Documents section that I have renamed the Gregg Writer folder to "Reading Material." I hope you won't mind that I took the liberty of moving some files into it (if you do, let me know and I'll put them back in the Documents folder!).

Since we also have a lot of learning aid documents, I have also created a new folder with that name. Have fun!

    Shorthand: isn't it about time?

  4. Oops!—Chuck, it seems I inadvertently gave myself credit for posting your stories when I moved them to the Reading Material folder of the Documents section. If you repost duplicates to either place, I will delete my copies so the right poster name will be displayed. Sorry!

  5. I uploaded the recipe and another letter in Simplified for everyone (I hope they turn into clickable links this time…)

    Non-boring Business Letter (I hope!):

And if any experts catch a misspelled outline, please tell me! We're all still learning 🙂
