The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Hey found an excellent book online. I don’t know if its been mentioned on this site before. The whole book has been put on the following webpage http://chestofbooks.com/languages/shorthand/Gregg-Speed-Practice/index.html The website seems to host all kinds of free books online, but this is the only Gregg Shorthand one. One of the most interesting sections is this…
I’m posting this because I just don’t have the time. From what I was told, the notes are from 1962 but I don’t know what system because she won’t send me a sample. It might not even be Gregg. A while ago I was all psyched about learning Shorthand; then the school year set in and I fell away from it. Now I want to get started w/ it again and the doubts and questions abound: I saw some vids on YouTube and they’re so fluid w/ the writing. I feel like a car…
He can go there in an hour. I will not go. Itwould not go well in there. He will not go there willhe? At the hour I am going. Good, I will gothere. Will he not go? Are there more in there? Attachment: gregg2.GIF (by kinnem7 for everyone)
Unpacking after my recent move, I discovered I have two copies of Margaret Hunter’s 1919 book. One copy is in pristine condition, the other was clearly used by either a techer or a devout student as phrasing opportunities which were not utilized are circled with the appropriate phrase written in the margin. For instance, page…
I put this forward. I’ve spent the first six months writing shorthand exclusively with liquid inks, the more they glided over the paper the better. But now if you see on the videos thread I have a space pen (ballpoint pen), I find the extra friction and effort required to make a marking on the…
My son is starting to use an AlphaSmart in school because of his handwriting. (Cheap laptop, well-designed for the school market.) Naturally, I went to the library and looked into shorthand that can be used for the computer. Question: Has anyone adapted Gregg for a keyboard? I looked at the font in documents here, but…
