The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Thanks so much! I never cease to be impressed by the Gregg organization which effectively overpowered the entrenched Pitmanites and dominated shorthand theory and practice here in the United States in a very short period of time. Not only were the Greggites great salesmen, they emphatically knew how to create a healthy learning environment for shorthand students … from beginning to advanced. The Teacher's Handbooks which have been reproduced here should be read by anyone wanting to learn Gregg for a better understanding of what is required in mastering any degree of shorthand skill. 🙂
This is very impressive.
Thank you Joel. This is very good.
Another great vacation read. Many thanks!
They make a good case for much more reading than writing, and minimal dictation at the early stages. There's time enough for new material and speed-building once the proper outlines are rock-solid in my mind. This isn't the obvious "write every passage really fast" approach.
I'm going to start the next push by reading the plates from the beginning again. It's good timing, since the house is rarely calm enough for dictation during the summer break.
Thanks!
Quick request: Please add more tags, like "books" or "manuals", like the other book. That will help us find them in future.
Good call Cricket. I added those tags here and to the FM Teacher's Handbook.
And thanks for the comments!
Hi fellows!
About Gregg Shorthand Functional Method (Anniversary) and Teacher's manual,
are they available in PDF in this honorouble group?
Regards,
Osvaldo
Hi Valo! The TH for the Anniversary FM Manual is here. The manual itself has not been digitized.
