The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Carlos, thank you for the tests for the future. 🙂 I appreciate your posting these.
You're welcome!
Is the one on the right using "advantage" as a verb, or is 'a-v' a word that I'm just not getting here that is used in photography?
Oh, I guess it's a phrase, "to advantage." It's in the previous sentence too. Every once in a while I come across a phrase that I've not heard much. Thanks for the heads up! By the way, I'm really enjoying that Congressional Record Vocab. It's got some great abbreviations.
The word is "advantage", but it is used as a noun in the sentence. The full sentence reads "A dark object is shown to best advantage against a light background."
Yes!!
You're welcome!
Here's proof that shorthand improves your English, :-).
