The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

I am searching for Godfrey Deweys books. I have been trying to find them through Abebooks and other book selling sites. Have also been searching through Worldcat. I have found them on some libraries. In some of them the books are in reference dept. which means that i am required to visit. Since I am…

I just found a sweet little volume, “Sténographie Gregg”, 1924, by Ernest W. Farmer M.D. (!), published by Gregg but printed in Norwood, Massachusetts. It came with the “Clef de la Sténographie Gregg”, a single sheet of “errata”, and a form from Marywood College in Scranton, PA listing those who were absent on April 20,…
As you may be aware, Multiply is changing its headquarters from the US to Indonesia and a new CEO took over the reins of the company earlier this month. The reason for this change stems from the fact that even though initially most people used the platform as a communication sharing vehicle, customers in Southeast…
This self-published guide by Roscoe F. Hunt presents a system of writing numbers in Gregg Shorthand. I’m not aware of anyone using this system, but nevertheless, it is an interesting publication. This was retrieved from the electronic files of the Louis A. Leslie Collection of Shorthand Materials at Rider University. Thanks again to nisew for typing these! As before, quality good enough for speed building, where you’re familiar with the text, but not much better. Attachment: gsm2-L58.zip (by Cricket for group greggshorthand)
Hey all! I am filming a documentary about court reporting – www.CourtReportingMovie.com – and I’m looking for pen writers to interview – those who used to work in courtrooms. Would you happen to know of any – or know how to get in touch with any? Pen writers in courtrooms used to be the…
Hi everyone, I’m partway through the Anni manual (Unit 18) but had something on my mind. It was established earlier that in certain cases you can add stuff to an ing dot (like s for -ings or e for -ingly). Does this work for anything? For example, can you write “Huffington” with a tn disjoined…
This is a practice tip that I want to share with the group. Instead of using a shorthand or a reporter’s notebook, try the 4″ x 6″ Lined Super Sticky Post-It Notes. They come in different colors (I use canary yellow) as either a single pack, or in packs of 3 or more. The reason…
