  1. Were these plates re-written before being published or are they original? I've always wanted to see what actual FAST courtroom shorthand may have looked like with the court reporter capturing verbatim testimony in a court room at 200+ WPM.

    1. More than likely, these were written from a printed transcript because they look very artistic. If you want to see how dictated material at 240 and 280 wpm look like, click here.

      Incidentally, if you didn't know, the shorthand in the first edition of the Simplified Functional Method manual was written from dictation by Charles Zoubek to make students aware of the small variations that can exist in writing when the material is dictated. I don't believe the plates written by Charles Rader were done from dictation.
