Variations in the Anni manual?

On Andrew Owen’s site….. looking at Unit 4 of the Anniversary Manual….. there are some excellent pensmanship examples…. the ones with the dotted lines to show the slant of some consonants .. and a little further down…. diagrams of how to connect circle vowels to those consonants.

When I looked in my copy of the Anniversary Manual, those diagrams are not there.

My Anni Manual was printed in March 1946.  Were these diagrams in earlier printings of the Anni manual and dropped in later printings?    Even though I am not at the writing stage yet in the Functional Method books, I do look at the other books in my growing library 🙂

These diagrams look like they would be very helpful……

  1. Those illustrations (accuracy drills) are not part of the Anniversary manual, but are included in the Third Edition of Gregg Speed Studies and were added by Andrew to the lessons for completion. They also appear in the regular manuals in the later series, starting with Lesson 30, but for some reason, they are not included in the functional method books.
