The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

That's a gem! And Blanchard writing Simplified nonetheless. This is around the time he left McGraw-Hill to teach at the University of Tulsa. He lived a long age: he was 92 when he died in 1988.
I wondered what the Tulsa connection was–I didn't realize he taught there.
Talk about dense! It took me a minute to figure out that the very first word, before the name, was NOT shorthand. I need a vacation!
I puzzled about that first word too. I looked again after reading Marc's comment. Sure enough, the word is "To", written in cursive longhand.
