The Blow

The famous explorer, Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, wrote several books and articles describing his explorations in Antarctica, the coldest part of our planet. In the book “Alone”, he tells of the four and a half months he spent by himself on the Ross Ice Barrier. Living in a hut beneath the surface of ice and snow, he gathered weather data and tested equipment designed for cold-weather climate. I rewrote one of the chapters of the book in Anniversary for the blog.
