So when I try to see the PDF, I get prompted to enter my Google password. Is this legit? That hasn't been the case before, if I've been logged in to the web site.
I don't generally respond to requests to enter my password (or any other information) when prompted in an unexpected way. There are too many "phishing" attempts out there to make that safe.
Documents are hosted in Google drive, so if you're not logged on to Google services in your browser beforehand, it will ask you for the password.
You can always log on to Google before accessing the blog and it shouldn't ask you for a password.
