Here is a story from the Gregg Writer magazine in 1916 pre-anniversary shorthand. It appeared in the Gregg Writer magazine from December 1923 through February 1924. The original story in English text was published in 1919.
The title is Open Hearth: A Story of Pete of the Steel Mills and his Fellow Work-men.
I recently read this story. It was a little challenging because there are a lot of technical terms related to the steel mill. There are also a few characters who use very bad grammar and a lot of contractions. Some of the slang is archaic.
