I was transcribing a French text on substance abuse and got thrown off by the word opioïde. Since the “io” combination usually looks the same in all words (the i-circle with the o-hook right under it), I wonder how it could be modified to indicate the third and final vowel. I can’t think of any word with “oï” that is contained in my French DJS dictionary so I can’t compare…

You can either add the circle and the d as normal (Option #1) or eliminate the first circle and end the outline with the o-hook-e-d (Option #2). Both would be fine:
