So fun! I grew up in Phoenix and cicadas were part of the ongoing sound (buzz) of every summer. We had them every summer, not every 17 years like some places.
Yes. The cicadas in Arizona have shorter life cycles, 2 to 3 years, so you can expect to hear them every year. They come out before the monsoon rains.
How appropriate to the season!
