In the Gregg Shorthand Facebook group, there’s an inquiry from someone with a document in Afrikaans, from 1930, written in shorthand that definitely isn’t Gregg and probably isn’t Pitman.
As always happens in Facebook, people are making wild guesses about what it “might” be, but the person posting is looking seriously for transcription help with what seems to be a court document.
I know it’s a long shot, but I wonder if anyone knows a shorthand writer in South Africa, or has any information about any kind of association or resources there. My superficial Google search didn’t really turn up anything.
It’s interesting to me for courts to have shorthand documents on file without a transcript.
