Here is yet another Gregg Text-Kit 1, this time for Series 90. These kits are wonderfully self-contained for independent study. It is a box set, part of Gregg’s adult continuing education series. It includes a textbook, key transcript, and a self-check test pad. This kit also includes 2 cassettes, which I have digitized into mp3 files with the help of Audacity. It represents a semester’s worth of study.
The shorthand was written by Jerome P. Edelman. The text has 2 parts. Part 1 has 30 lessons, and Part 2 has 10 review lessons (so, 40 lessons total). The appendix has the Principal Cities of the United States and a list of Geographical Endings. The recordings start out at 40 wpm and work up to 80 wpm by the end. The 2 cassettes have been digitized into 47 separate mp3 files.
There is a Gregg Text-Kit 2 Series 90 that follows this set for a second semester’s worth of study, for review and speed-building.
A few months ago I posted the Gregg Text-Kits for Diamond Jubilee, if you prefer that edition. The dictation recordings can certainly be used for any shorthand edition. Between all 4 gregg text-kits, there are over 250 recordings to practice from. Happy shorthand writing!
