Hello fellow Stenographers.
My name is Marco and I’ve been interested in the Gregg Simplified system since I took it in High School in 1985. I think we were the last class to have the option to take the class as it was not offered the following semester.
In 1990, when I started college, I started using the brief forms I remembered to help me with my note taking. Then in 1995, I came across the book I used in High School and didn’t think twice about buying it. On and off, from 1995 to last year, I was trying to learn on my own. I thought this was a dying art form and would always get discouraged as I didn’t have any guidance.
Last year, I did find this sight and subscribed to the emails. I did ask about how to get an account but never got a response (the nerve). So I thought this site was a closed sight, aka not accepting new peeps. When I started seeing new members sign in, I looked into getting log in credentials. Turns out I had used the previously used the wrong method to request an account (ma bad!!!). Happy to be on this sight. 🙂
I feel NOW I’ll be able to re-introduce my self into this wonderful art and get WAY better than I ever thought possible. I feel this site will help.
I’m so happy to see all the interest there is on this system of shorthand. I congratulate all who found GSH without formally being introduced to it in a classroom setting. I immediately saw the advantage when I took the class. This site is definitely a motivator.
Cheers everyone!
Marco (Los Angeles, CA)
