Archimedes of Syracuse was a Greek mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor, and astronomer, who lived during the third century B.C. In this essay by the Russian-born American scientist Isaac Asimov from his book Breakthroughs in Science, he talks about the life and achievements of Archimedes.
