Finding a class or teacher, or the next best thing

I’m having another go at learning Anniversary. I began by mostly reading using the two “Functional Method” books by Leslie. But I didn’t keep at it. Now as well as me doing it, I may have my assistant learn too. (I wish this stuff was still widely taught such that executive assistants came pre-trained in…

Help on Anniversary outline

Hi there, I found an outline that I’ve never seen, nor can I find it in any dictionaries.  It appears to be a dis-joined right-s prefix (i.e., ‘super’) over th(r)-s.  I saw it in Gregg Speed studies 3rd ed. on page 363, third line down.  The sentence makes sense without the ‘s’, but it seems…

Question on Brief Form and “r” indication

Just wondering if anyone has an answer to my question.  I am using the Anniversary Functional Method.  Earlier in the book it instructed that “r” may be indicated after a vowel by turning the circle counter clockwise (ex: compare “dare” to “day”).  I came upon the brief form for “particular” and the book is not…

I’ve been following the group for some time and I have great admiration for the Gregg method, since I knew what exactly was the shorthand – that a short time ago. Although I know of adapting the method to my native language, unfortunately I had not gotten a copy to it (Brazilian Portuguese) and I started the study by another method – method Maron, in which I am already halfway through the course. Although I want to finish the Maron course completely that fortunately is all freely available online and is excellent, the Gregg shorthand never left…

Review of Text to Speech Systems for Dictation

This will save the next person some time, since most of the programs were unacceptable. I only spent enough time with each one to decide if it would work without being frustrating. The first test was a 100-word sample. They all have free online demos. Please add any other programs you know of. All research…
