Writing helps

Dear John, I am wondering how to keep the symbols off when I copy and paste. e.g. my reply to Series 90. Sometimes I write in MS word and then transfer to the little window, because sometimes the little window times out before I send it and then I lose everything. Or I copy it…

Old Shorthand Postcards

Hi, I’m new to the group, but have always had an interest in Gregg Shorthand as it was a skill that my mother had learned in New York City around 1930 and of which she tried to teach me as a child. I did learn a few of the sounds and shortcuts and it did…

learning Anniversary

I have learned in Unit 3, paragraph 27 the blending of m and n.  I jumped over to Unit 16, paragraph 133-5.  So does ‘meant’ and ‘mend’ really transcribe as  ? Or do meant and mend still follow after paragraph 27? What about the past form of ‘remain’?  Remained transcibing as:   ? As always, thank you….

Past tense

New member, err, student. ;)

Hi everyone. My name is Ken. I live in Hamilton, Montana and I just joined your group today. I’ve an interest in Gregg shorthand as I majored in journalism at the U of Oregon years ago and have worked as a reporter, editor and news editor in Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Montana. My  shorthand is self-taught…

Is Gregg Shorthand being taught anywhere?

Hello everyone, I learned shorthand back in the early 60’s. I’ve become very rusty at it. I would like to get a refresher course as I am soon to be unemployed and view shorthand as a good skill to list on the resume. Of late, I have seen more job ads looking for people with…
