The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Thanks for sharing this. As a recently retired teacher I found students wanted to make all their notes on computers when preparing for exams, which were hand written. This hand writing advantage was a very difficult message to get across. Even to some parents! This is another article I found recently. I would love for this to gain traction with educators.

I agree with both articles.
I have the same issue with allowing the use of calculators in elementary school. Technology is important, but its overuse is not a good thing.
