Here is the classic Christmas story told by the Brothers Grimm, which I transcribed for the blog in Simplified Gregg.

The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Two of the three stories were among my favorites from Grimm. Thanks for the great transcriptions!
Unfortunately the copy of Grimm's Fairy tales that I have from Project Gutenberg was published in a different year (and might have a different translator), so I wasn't able to use it as a transcript to figure out tricky words.
Page 2, column 1, a little over half-way down: "The following morning, too/[to/two?], [e-v-nt] the 4 pairs made." Looks like "event," but I can't make the sentence scan that way. Perhaps it's [i-f-nt]? I've tried inserting "for" and "fur" for an "f," the solution yet eludes me.
Then on page 4, column 1, a little less than half way down, "Everything there was small but more elegant and beautiful than [can be?] [d-s-c-r-t]." I wanted to read it "described," but the Simplified dictionary shows that written out. Tried mashing brief forms together, but couldn't figure out how "desire/dear sir" and "correct" might play in. Couldn't find a dictionary entry under "descr*" that fit.
Then at the very end on page 5, "I am as old now as the [u-e-s-t-r] forest but never yet have I…" I tried to make the first word "western," but that would be "u-e-s-t-e-n."
Any help would be appreciated!
You can find above a link for the transcript, just under the title.
Page 2: "The following morning, too, he found the four pairs made …"
Page 4: The outline was "described" but I mistakenly wrote it as in Anniversary (it's so much easier!). I corrected the outline.
Page 5: The name of the forest is "Wester."
Ah, yes, I totally missed the link! I agree, the Anniversary version of "described" is much simpler than Simplified! I'm looking forward to starting Anniversary once I'm done with the Simplified manual. Due to an otherwise unfortunate circumstance I've had a lot of hours to put into shorthand, and now all I have left is slogging through copying the letters at the end of the book that reinforce all the principals.
