Happy New Year!
I wish everyone a great 2015 and, of course, include practicing Gregg Shorthand in your New Year’s resolutions!
The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

This document may be of use to anyone interested in the history and development of Gregg Shorthand; the NYPL has a huge collection of papers, documents, draft books, photographs etc., donated by his widow, Janet Kinley Gregg. They will copy documents (for a charge) for members of the public. Their staff are very helpful, but…

This is a “practice-using-blogger” post. The text is not mine; I borrowed it from The Gregg Scrapbook. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4leruaB5syqYU9MZ1AwaWhVTXM/view?usp=sharing Any ideas on how to rename the link?

I would have thought that it would rate high on a list of most commonly used words, especially for a shorthand writer in the business world. (Also, I particularly dislike the fully written out forms of “employee” and “employees”; they look as…
I remember posting on here way back about a more standardized mapping of Gregg shorthand strokes to ASCII characters. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost the content of that particular website, and I don’t think I have it on my hard drive. Would anyone happen to have a copy of it lying around? I don’t…
I just happened to notice in “Speed Building for Colleges, Diamond Jubilee Series”, 1966, on page 473 the outline for the word “accident” is given as a-s. Have I missed something? That isn’t a DJS brief form, and it doesn’t appear in the DJS dictionary. The book doesn’t give any explanation that I can find,…
