I am new at this and would like very much to learn I started it back some 40 years ago but everything has changed.

The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Welcome to the group, Dee. You may want to take a look at a file in the Documents section titled "gregg-shorthand-comparison.pdf", where it lists the different flavors of Gregg Shorthand throughout the years, and the characteristics of each. Since you said that you took shorthand about 40 years ago, more than likely you learned Diamond Jubilee. Do you still have the books? If so, why not start from there? Below is the link to the document. http://www.msnusers.com/greggshorthand/Documents/gregg%2Dshorthand%2Dcomparison.pdf If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to ask them here.
