The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Now I can look again I have a clarification: Is the Auk’s alternative name Garefowl? Later on, when museum collectors took things was it “articles” or some other word?
Also (and I hardly dare say, for your writing is so brilliant, but if I strive to copy it I might deviate here) where you say “lived south of the Arctic” the word “lived” seems to have a slight “s” sneaking in between the e and the v. A matter of style only I’m sure but I haven’t noticed it before.
Yes, “garefowl.” Later on, the collectors were of museum specimens and “antiques.”
No s was intended in “lived.” (Besides, there is no other word, right?)
Thanks Carlos,
Antiques. Of course.
(And certainly no other word than lived, which came to me after a short thought.)
