Okay, One more Question.. W?
W. I am wondering, after having a look at the gregg manual online, that there is no ‘W’? Say for words like away, while, who, went, when, etc. etc. Are you able to help a confused soul? (by c-higginson for everyone)
The Gregg Group was founded 22 May 2004, prompted by the lack of online shorthand resources. As the primary use for shorthand — business and legal recording — has waned in recent decades, we generally acclaim the skill as a hobby or personal tool. The purpose of the group is to promote the use of Gregg systems of shorthand by providing advice to beginners, support for students, and an association of users of this efficient, attractive, and enjoyable method of writing.

Alison (troutgirl1501) has posted an interesting picture in the “Pictures” section of the site. It came right out of one of the editions of a DJS book. Alex (BeanTea) had made a reference in a few days ago in a post in the General Forum about “spotting the celebrity”, but not knowing what it was…
As a spam-controlling measure, if any user wants to post a link in our Links section of the site, you can send John or me a note, or post your suggestion under this topic. Luckily, the announcements for escort services will dwindle dramatically. (by Carlos for everyone)
Good evening all!I was wondering if there was any website for french shorthand?I like the french language, and I would definetely jump at the chance of making my writing extra unintelligible to others. 😀 If there is not a site, would it still be the same in essence,i.e., ciel, meaning sky would just be s-i-l,…

I’m learning Anniversary from the textbooks on the angelfishy site, and would be happy to have a millimetre measurement guide for strokes. I know some people write a bit smaller or bigger, but practically, I haven’t actually seen any Gregg on paper, rather everything has been from the computer screen so my proportions could be…
Does anyone remember something called “Legal Stenography”? I seem to remember this was a form of Gregg particularly adapted for legal secretaries and paralegals. It existed in New York State when I lived there, and I seem to remember our teacher telling us it had a lot more brief forms for the legal vocabulary. Was…
Okay, so this may sound like a rather silly question, but does anybody have a favourite pen for shorthand? For the record my current favourite is the BIC reaction retractable gel pen. (by shorthandworld1 for everyone)
I am a month and a half into my study of anniversary and the first thing I’ve been using my skills for is not in fact writing fast–even if after a month of anniversary I could miraculously do that, but to write secret notes to myself that I don’t want others to see. My notes are…
Since I’ve resumed my Pitman New Era studies, my attention has been brought again to this system found on the wonderfull archive.org. Was wondering if anybody has heard anything about it or has any opinions? It looks super fast and simpler than Pitman, and maybe even simpler than the older versions of Gregg. It uses…
